Buitenlandactiviteit: Londen Hyde Park Relays

Hyde Park Relays this year on Olympic Grounds. Chairman of the London Olympic Games 2012 Sebastian Coe used to participate in the Hyde Park Relays himself. The U.K.'s biggest student relay will this year take place on saturday march 3rd. Men will run 3 miles each in a team of 6 and ladies 2 miles each in a team of 4. Both distances turned out to be slightly longer over the years.

Last year our ladies joined the men and we only had mixed teams. Since we never get close to winning in any of the categories it didn't change a lot in that respect. I think everybody involved liked the change, so I suggest we hang on to mixed teams. Cost for a team of 6 is 48 pounds, which makes 8 pounds each. Included are dinner (mostly snacks) after the race and the party in the Union Bar on saturdaynight. Accomodation will be provided from thursday march 1st. until sunday march 4th. This will be floor space on the grounds of the organizing university Imperial College, next to Hyde Park. So bring your pillow, sleeping bag etc. There might be a small surcharge for the accomodation. More information on www.hydeparkrelays.com Traditionally we travel in different ways to London. You can make your own trip, as long as you're on saturday in Hyde Park to join the relay. Some will go by car, so when you like to join us for the roadtrip and ferry let me know. I'll try to arrange free parking on the grounds of Imperial College. A few pounds for streetparking might get lost, but in the end travelling by car has always turned out to be the cheapest way to get to London and back.
